Our Team

Dr. Tracy Cassagnol is the founding Faculty Lead for our lab and Faculty at FIU HWCOM. Her area of expertise is anatomy instruction and she is passionate about innovation in medical education.

Nicholas Liautaud is a senior engineering student who serves as the Engineering Lead for our lab. He is a founding member of the lab with a passion for 3D printing and biomedical engineering. Nicholas develops the strategic engineering plans for the lab and coordinates our efforts between the medical and engineering teams.

Christelle Azolin is a 3rd year medical student at FIU HWCOM and founding member of the lab who aspires to pursue a career in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is passionate about innovation in the care of patients and as part of her work at IAL is most interested in creating models of congenital heart defects.

Christian Cazzaniga is an engineer with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree and brings his engineering experience and passion for the fine arts to our work. Christian is interested in the creation of models to enhance student learning.

Ryan Romero is a first year medical student at HWCOM aspiring to pursue a career in Emergency Medicine. Ryan is a knowledgeable and talented 3D printer and serves as the liaison between our Engineering and Medical Team to ensure that models are anatomically accurate.

Nicholas Denove is a first year medical student at FIU HWCOM aspiring to pursue a career in Orthopedic Trauma Surgery. Nick has an engineering background and is excited to be able to integrate medicine and engineering in the lab.

Nicole Koutras is second year medical student at FIU HWCOM aspiring to pursue a career in Cardiology. She serves on our Medical Team, helping to provide clinical context to the models we create to enhance student learning, with special attention to our Cardiac models.

Mr. Ferdinand Gomez serves on our Advisory Board and brings his extensive experience in anatomy instruction to our efforts. At FIU HWCOM, Mr. Gomez serves as the Director of the Human Anatomy Laboratory.

Natalie Olivier is a summer arts in medicine intern within our lab. She is a high school freshman who aspires to pursue a career in medicine, and is excited to apply her talents to the work in our lab.

Imani Hans-Ngalame is a enginerring in medicine intern within our lab. He is a high school freshman who aspires to pursue a career in engineering.
